What is Single-origin Coffee?

At Milo's Coffee & Co, Our coffee is sourced from a single region in Colombia, where it is grown at high altitudes in rich, volcanic soil. We work directly with the farmers who grow our coffee, ensuring that they are paid fairly and that their beans are harvested at peak ripeness for optimal flavor.

Single origin coffee refers to coffee that is sourced from a single geographic region, such as a specific farm, estate, or cooperative. This means that the beans are grown in a single location rather than being blended with beans from multiple regions.

The term "single origin" is often used to indicate the specific location where the coffee was grown, as well as the unique flavor characteristics that are associated with that region. Factors such as the soil type, altitude, climate, and processing methods all play a role in shaping the flavor of the coffee.

Single origin coffee is often prized for its distinct and complex flavor profile, as well as its traceability and transparency. By sourcing coffee from a single origin, roasters are able to showcase the unique qualities of that particular region, and coffee drinkers are able to explore the nuances and subtleties of different coffee-growing regions around the world.

Additionally, single origin coffee is often associated with ethical and sustainable practices, as it allows for direct relationships between coffee producers and roasters. Our farmers save on average 39.6 Liters (10 Gallons) of water per (1) kg of coffee.

Overall, single origin coffee is a way to celebrate the diversity and complexity of coffee, and to experience the unique flavors and characteristics of different regions around the world.
